About Slow Feeding: buying guide & FAQs

Slow Feeding at Loaf & Wag: 50 products in stock, $15 to $174, every one shipping free from a US warehouse.

We are a retailer, not a manufacturer — this collection stocks VEVOR, Pet Life, PETKIT and Dog Helios alongside unbranded pieces we judge on build quality alone, and every product page names the brand that makes that item.

What to look for

  • Elevated diners suit tall or arthritic dogs; flat bowls are better for puppies and flat-faced breeds.
  • Slow-feeder patterns work by making the dog navigate a maze — pick a depth your dog can actually reach into.
  • Fountains encourage drinking through moving water; check whether the pump runs wired or on battery before buying.
  • Stainless steel and ceramic resist scratches that harbour bacteria, unlike softer plastics.

Frequently asked questions

Do water fountains actually make pets drink more?
Many cats prefer moving water and drink more from a fountain than a still bowl. It is a common recommendation for cats prone to urinary issues — ask your vet if that applies to yours.
How often do fountain filters need changing?
Most manufacturers suggest every 2–4 weeks depending on household size. The product page lists the filter type for that model.
How fast is shipping, and what about returns?
Every order ships free from a US warehouse and arrives within 4–10 business days. Orders placed before 3:00 PM Eastern Time on a business day count that day as business day one. You have a 30-day return window; manufacturing defects are covered free, and other return conditions vary by brand and are listed in our refund policy.
